Alright folks — you all probably know by now that Duppy ‘78 is available on comiXology for $5.
Yes, it’s digital-only for now until we raise the funds to get it in print. Words can’t describe how much I hate taking this whole self-promotion/borderline-begging angle, but over the past four years, Amancay, Dan, Eddie, Ben, everyone at Com.x and I put a lot of hard work into this project for literally no money, only to fall short of retailer orders (which is a rant I’ll save for later), so ideally, we’re hoping to get enough digital orders so we can move to print. I personally prefer reading comics on my iPad, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t love to see this on my physical bookshelf one day.
No one makes comics because of the money, we do this because we genuinely love the medium, and contrary to what some might think, creating comics is an extremely difficult process on every imaginable level. I’m sincerely proud of this work and am humbled by the talents of everyone on the team, and feel like more than anything, THEY deserve this recognition.
So please take a moment to download the comiXology app and if you have five bucks to spare, it would be tremendous if you’d support our indie comic.
